Green

What does it truly mean to be green? The answer on that question really depends on who you ask. For us, being green is taking the time to reduce our impact on the environment while maintaining superior quality and 100% customer satisfaction with our products.

After purchasing renewable energy from IPL, we enrolled in the Green Power Partner program started by the national Environmental Protection Agency.

When we started examining this Green movement in the industry, we discovered many of our suppliers and partners had strong green initiatives as well.

We're Growing Green at Fineline
Green

Fineline has been participating in green printing practices for years. We use low-VOC chemicals, recycle our waste products, conserve energy, and try to limit our overall consumption as a company. However, as the Green movement speeds up, we've begun to see that while we already do a lot, we can do so much more to help the environment. Therefore, Fineline is doing an internal green audit to analyze our eco-friendly practices and what we can do in the future. We were already a little green, but we're getting greener. Check back to this page regularly to see updates as we Grow Green here at Fineline!

GreenWe have always tried to limit our impact on the environment but there's so much more we can do. After conducting an internal green audit, we'll begin to change some policies to improve our current procedures and find new ways to promote sustainability.

What We're Doing Now
  • We recycle most of our waste products including our paper and press plates
  • Using soy-based and renewable inks instead of 100% petroleum-based inks
  • Using low or No-VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) chemicals for our presses
  • Many printers throw away old rags after cleaning the machines, but we wash and reuse all of ours
  • We are not dumping toxic chemicals down the drains as many other printers do, we neutralize them or ensure they are of a safe pH level before they become waste
  • We power our Indianapolis facility with renewable energy provided by IPL
  • We are replacing our lighting system to more efficient bulbs to reduce our overall energy expenditure

  • What We'll Be Doing Soon
  • Doing a better job of recycling our chemicals
  • Doing a better job of separating papers to increase their recyclability
  • Promoting an employee recycling program
  • Becoming Green certified by various third party groups
  • ...and more!
Stay tuned as we complete our full internal green audit and publish our Growing Green guide in the near future.
