Our next Fineline University seminar will cover principles of good layout and design in regards to designing effective brochures, catalogues, etc. Alana Schneider, an expert in design for everything from webpages to catalogues, will guide attendees through the rules of good design with tips on aiming your design to your target market, layout principles, and font considerations. After a discussion of the elements of good design, you will get to experience them being put to use as she transitions the seminar into an open discussion about the do's and don'ts of design.

The Design 101 seminar will consist of two main parts: lecture and discussion. During the discussion portion of the event, we will be critiquing and analyzing layout designs and trying to improve them with basic design techniques. We would like attendees to contribute pieces they have designed or are in the process of designing. Perhaps we can help you improve your design in a way you have not seen before. We will be requesting samples a couple of weeks prior to the seminar, but if you would like to go ahead and send a PDF of your design to Shawn Smith we would love to get samples early!
Note: Seating for this event is limited to 25 per session so please only register if you are sure you can attend. If you register and find out later that you cannot come, please email Shawn Smith so that space can become available for another. Thank you!
